Bringing interactive design to in-store experiences with Rive and the Dise IXM Platform
Dise IXM platform now integrates with Rive, a modern real-time animation and interactive design tool. This integration gives partners a new way to be creative – and all without the need for code. We’re enabling animated, data-driven, and interactive experiences directly within the Dise ecosystem.
Digital screens in retail have evolved far beyond simple content displays. Today, they are an integral part of the in-store experience — helping retailers guide customers, highlight products, and create engaging brand moments at the point of sale.
As expectations for in-store communication grow, so does the need for richer, more dynamic content. Motion, interactivity, and responsive design are becoming essential tools for creating digital experiences that truly capture attention.
To support this shift, the Dise IXM platform now integrates with Rive, a modern real-time animation and interactive design tool.
This integration gives partners a new way to be creative – and all without the need for code. We’re enabling animated, data-driven, and interactive experiences directly within the Dise ecosystem.
What is Rive?
Rive is a real-time interactive design and animation tool that allows designers to build vector-based animations that run directly within a Dise template. Unlike traditional video-based animation workflows, Rive combines visual design and interaction logic in the same environment.
With the Rive integration, partners can create animations, define behaviors, and build interactive states without needing to write code. The goal is to enable the deployment of interactive visual experiences that integrate seamlessly into the Dise IXM platform.
This integration opens up a new level of creative possibilities for digital in-store communication: experiences that are visually engaging, adaptive, and responsive to interaction.
New possibilities for retail environments
Traditional digital signage content is often pre-rendered. Videos and motion graphics are produced externally and then scheduled to play across the screen network.
Rive takes a different approach.
Instead of playing back a fixed asset, the animation itself becomes part of the application logic. Designers can build interactions, dynamic behaviors, and responsive elements that change based on input or context.
Within a retail environment, this enables new possibilities. A product showcase might react to user interaction on a touch display. A promotional experience could update dynamically based on campaign triggers. Interactive elements can guide customers through a product story directly on the screen.
The result is a more immersive and responsive digital in-store experience.
How the Dise IXM platform enables this
The integration allows Rive animations and interactive experiences to run natively within the Dise playout environment.
This integration supports several key scenarios:
1 – Play Rive animations directly in Dise
Partners can upload Rive animations and run them as part of their digital in-store campaigns. This allows motion-rich visual storytelling across retail screens.
2 – Create Dise templates directly in Rive
Designers can create templates in the Rive editor and expose properties, such as text, number, or images, as editable fields. These properties are automatically mapped to fields in the Dise CMS, enabling content managers to easily update the content or interactive elements without modifying the animation itself.
3 – Build interactive in-store experiences
Rive makes it possible to design experiences that respond to interaction or events. This includes, for example, touch interactions, sensor triggers, or product exploration interfaces.
This connection between design logic and platform orchestration enables experiences that are both visually rich and operationally integrated.
4 – A no-code starting point, with full extensibility
The integration is designed to work out of the box with a no-code approach, allowing partners to quickly deploy interactive templates.
For more advanced scenarios, developers can extend the functionality using the Dise Template SDK and integrate Rive directly into custom applications.
This aligns with the API-first and extensible architecture of the Dise IXM platform, enabling partners to build solutions tailored to their clients’ needs.
What this integration means for Dise partners
For partners building digital in-store solutions, the Rive integration expands what can be delivered to retailers.
Designers gain the ability to build interactive, motion-driven templates that are more flexible than traditional content formats. Developers can integrate animation behavior with the broader logic of the Dise IXM platform. Content managers still benefit from the familiar CMS workflows used to manage campaigns and screen networks.
Together, this makes it easier to deliver experiences that feel modern, responsive, and engaging.
Bringing retail to life
The integration between Rive and the Dise IXM platform highlights a broader shift in digital in-store communication.
Screens are going from static displays into responsive touchpoints within the retail journey. They evolve to being interactive touchpoints that can respond to context, interaction, and data in real time.
By enabling partners to combine interactive design with the orchestration capabilities of the Dise IXM platform, Rive helps unlock a new generation of digital in-store experiences.
Integrations like these show that Dise continues to support its mission of bringing retail to life through scalable digital in-store solutions delivered by partners.
